Hey :) Sorry this is so late getting posted! We love you all and hope that you know that! Everyone has different areas they need extra work and improvement on. EVERYONE! Keep pushing! Please love and support each other. This is the 1st year in 11 years that Brandi has coached where we haven't auditioned these routines from the begining. We wanted to give it a shot. What to Wear to the Northridge Competition

Hi :) Sam will be giving you a list in the morning to help you remember what to pack. Think hard so that we don't forget anything....

*We are wearing our Black Rockette Tank Tops under our Warm Ups with our Nikes. You can wear your lettermans jackets and coats and everything else to keep warm on the bus. Don't forget your blanket and pillows, etc. The buses are NOT warm.

All of your shoes and tights and dues and hotel fees HAVE to be caught up! Please bring your checks in the morning!

Small Update

Kick shoes are ordered and will be here very soon. They are $55.00 - Please pay that ASAP.

Also, please turn in your $25.00 Jordan Comp. hotel fee and your December dues ASAP. They are due December 1.

If you haven't paid your $18.00 for your fishnets, you need to do that. The tights will arrive with the shoes.

Christmas Party

We will be getting invites out to you soon! We will try to have a shorter practice after school and try to start the party at 6 ish. Please plan on a $5.00 exchange gift and a food assignment. We will be asking some girls to bring soup. If you are interested in doing soup, please let Brandi or Dani know.

P.S. Still waiting on an exact price for kick shoes, but it looks like they will be more around the $50.00 mark. Good news!

Thanksgiving!

There is no practice over the Thanksgiving holiday! On the Wednesday morning before Thanksgiving (11-25-09) we will have practice from 7:00-10:00 A.M. at the Natatorium!

Chelsea brought the checks back to me from our photo shoot. She didn't realize that her new form didn't say to make the checks payable to CHELSEA CHRISTENSEN instead of CJC PHOTOGRAPHY. She feels REALLY bad about this. The bank wouldn't take them, so she will need to get new checks. Please write out a new check and and turn it into me ASAP and I will give you back your old check.

Shoes & Tights Confusion

Sorry about the confusion....

-The fishnet tight checks need to be made out to BEHS. If you haven't paid for those, please do so ASAP. We need to get those ordered. $18.00.

Kick Routine Shoes

We may be ordering a special kind of shoe for our kick routine. I feel okay in doing this because at auditions I told you of a $50.00 Competition Fee that would be due in October. I decided not to collect on that since we weren't doing prop and novelty.

I feel like having a unique pair of shoes for this routine could really help set us apart artistically! We need to take a few risks competivley & costuming is a big part of dance!

I am working on prices, etc. I have been informed that they could run around $70.00. I am still checking around and will inform you soon!


P.S. Your $25.00 December Hotel Fee will be due before Thanksgiving Break! Don't forget to keep up on your Dues. November is now past due ($15.00)! Hugs!

OFFICER PRACTICE

Officers! On Friday November 6th we will be learning our officer routine. If you wanna be in it, you will need to be there. We will leave after team practice, grab a bite to eat, and then I will run you to Ogden. The practice starts at 6:30 and will go for several hours! I will need a permission slip :)

PICTURE DATE CHANGE & COST

Pictures were changed to this Saturday October 31st @ 9:00 A.M. at the football field! Everything stays the same. No Practice, just pics and Halloween :)

You girls were darling with the men and women! SICKNESS

We have decided that those members on the team that have been sick with swine flu symptons and have DOCTOR'S notes regarding that will be excused from the practices they have missed. So far, I have had 3 girls with doctor's notes. They will not be penalized and have to miss a performance. Please make EVERY effort to stay healthy. We need to cautious, but still do our best at fulfilling our Rockette responsibilities.

FUTURE ROCKETTE HALF-TIME

Roll Call: 6:15 in the Gym. The Future Rockettes will be coming at 7:15. As soon as they get there, it is all about them and we have to be ready to go!!! Warmed up, circled up, etc.!

SATURDAY PRACTICE - BREAKFAST

Moms! Please look over the schedule of Saturday practices for October & November.
We will be looking for moms to sign up at the mother's meeting to help with breakfast on those mornings. We will make the meeting as short and sweet as possible! Looking over your calendars ahead of time will help.

You would need to come to practice for the last 10 minutes. I am thinking that we (Marne') will order cinnamon rolls from Old Grist Mill for Saturdays and then the moms in charge can pick them up and also bring some milk, juice, cups, napkins, (fruit?) etc. to the practice they signed up for.

-SATURDAY OCTOBER 10- We will begin learning lyrical this day. Your $25.00 coreography fee will be due that morning (or before). If you miss this practice, you will not be able to be in lyrical. I do not know yet if we will have a tryout for this routine. We will start it out with everyone in it to learn it and then decide at a later date.

-I have reviewed the notes you received at tryouts and the first of the year about expenses, etc. At this point I have decided not to charge the $50.00 competition fee. If that changes, I will let you know.

IMPORTANT Information on a MANDATORY Meeting

This information came from Kim Peterson our athletic director:

September 23rd @ 7:00 P.M. at the Box Elder Middle School Auditorium - mandatory meeting for all athletes and their parents. This meeting is to inform athletes and parents of the new drug policy for athletes. You will need to pay a 1 time $10.00 fee and be prepared to sign a waiver. The waiver and money must be turned in by September 30th. If it is not, the athlete can participate until they get it turned in.

PEACH DAYS - CAR SHOW

Erika was contacted for the Rockettes to help at the Car Show. She has the information to get to the team! This should be fun and easy!

So sorry about any confusion with the Peach Queen Pageant. I was never contacted this year and assumed they didn't need us since it was out of town. Then, late on Tuesday night while they were at practice for the pageant they realized that they didn't have ushers....tried to call me, couldn't reach me and then got a hold of Stacie. They only needed a few girls, so she got a hold of a few that were willing to do it and were going anyway. Again, sorry if any of you were confused!

I have not registered for these yet, but these are the competitions that have gotten their information out and I am planning on attending. I have not received information on the Clearfield-January Competition yet.

Peach Queen Pageant

I have not received a phone call about this yet, but I usually do every year just before the pageant!

Each year they ask the Rockettes to serve as ushers during the pageant. Plan on this.....I am sure that I will get the call. If we are asked to do this, it will be mandatory and involve all team members.

*You will need to wear a black skirt that is capri length or longer & and a nice white shirt. Dress it up with cute black, white, and purple jewelry.

SEPTEMBER practices

*We will be practicing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday after school during September.
That means that there will not be practice on Mondays during this month. We will also not hold practice on the Friday of Peach Days!

*If we do practice on a Saturday for the month, it will be on Saturday the 26th!

*Saturday Practices are from 7:00-10:00 A.M.

*Tuesday - Friday morning @ 6:00 A.M. in the big gym! Yay!

I am still waiting to hear back on the coordination of Future Rockettes. It has been a little tricky with everything going on at the school.

WELCOME DANIELLE

Welcome to Danielle Smith Carr! She will be working as an assistant coach for our team. She will be a great member of our team and another "key" to our success! She was a member of Rockettes and has a great love for this team and this program. We are thrilled to have her on board!

SCHOOL YEAR PRACTICES

We will not begin before school practices until Wednesday September 2. We will have early morning practice every morning except for Mondays. The after school practice schedule is still to be determined. We are waiting for the Natatorium to get the schedule up. Craig said some time in the next few weeks. Plan on 3 days a week after school through September. The practice schedule changes in October. Remember that work schedules cannot conflict with practice!

AUGUST PRACTICES

For the weeks of August 17 and August 24 we will be holding practice at the Natatorium! We will have roll call there and then head over to the track to run! FYI!

FUNDRAISING

Two of our three main fundraisers will be approaching quickly. Please remember that you were informed of these before auditioning for Rockettes and they are not optional. You will be receiving your Cow Dung tickets when you return to practice after moritorium. Each member of Rockettes will also be required to sign up a certain amount of girls for Future Rockettes. Just giving you a heads up so that you can start planning ahead.

ATTENDANCE

We are a bit concerned about the amount of practices that have been missed this summer. We realize that summers are busy. We have two weeks of practice before school begins and we plan on seeing all of you there. We realize some of you will miss little bits of a practice here and there due to the fair. You need to keep all coaches and the secretary informed with the CORRECT information! ALL NOTES OF PRACTICES BEING MISSED MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT!

**Practice will be 7-10 except every WED will be let out at NINE!

**Monday June 15th (the day before camp) we are having a MANDATORY team meeting. More info to come but make sure you are there!

** We are also going to be making cd's of our songs and sending them home, we are trying this out so this year we can really practice at home. Mom's- please make your girls practice :) The hip hop cd's should be ready to pass out at the garage sale! Please start practicing!
